Dear parishioners and guests,
By now many of you know that I have been appointed pastor of this community of Christ the King parish in San Jose, CA. I want to thank all my predecessors: Fr. Dan Derry; Fr. Norm Segovia; Fr. Robert Brocato and previous parish leaders and staff for their hard work and love for this parish.
The uniqueness of this parish is based not only on the physical place where this church was built (in a shopping center) but on the members this community of faith. Here you can really experience the meaning of our Catholicism. People from all over the world come here to worship God and to enrich and celebrate their faith.
Continuing with the legacy I have inherited, I am going to take care of the good seed that all my predecessor have sowed here with special attention to the unity among the different cultures and backgrounds of the people who gather together here every single day. But at the same time, I want to promote still a stronger sense of ownership and responsibility, in other words: “This place is yours, now you have to take care of it.”
I have joined you in your journey of faith. I invite you now to join me so that together we can say: “I belong to Christ the King Parish, which is a community of faith called to be the light and spirit of the marketplace and beyond.”

Estimados feligreses,
A estas fechas muchos de ustedes ya saben que he sido nombrado párroco de esta comunidad parroquial de Cristo Rey en San José, CA. Quiero agradecer a todos mis predecesores: P. Dan Derry; P. Norm Segovia; P. Robert Brocato y todos los líderes y miembros del equipo pastoral su trabajo y cariño a la parroquia.
La unicidad de esta parroquia reside no sólo por el lugar donde ha sido construida (en medio de un centro comercial), sino en los feligreses que la componen. En este lugar usted puede experimentar el verdadero significado de nuestro catolicismo. Gente de muchos países del mundo se reúnen aquí para dar culto a Dios, y enriquecer y celebrar su fe.
Continuando con el legado que he heredado, voy a cuidar la buena semilla sembrada por mis antecesores con especial atención la semilla de la unidad entre las diferentes culturas e idiomas de la gente que se reúne aquí todos los días. Al mismo tiempo, voy a promover con más fuerza el sentimiento de pertenencia y responsabilidad. En otras palabras: “Este lugar es de usted, usted debe de cuidarlo”.
Hoy soy parte de su jornada de fe, le invito a que se una a la mía para que juntos podamos decir: “Yo pertenezco a la parroquia de Cristo Rey, que es una comunidad de fe llamada a ser la luz y el espíritu del centro comercial y mas allá del centro comercial.”

Thưa cộng đoàn dân Chúa và quý khách,
Tới nay nhiều quý vị đã biết tôi được ủy nhiệm làm cha chánh xứ của giáo xứ Chúa Kitô Vua tại San Jose. Tôi xin chân thành cám ơn tất cả các vị tiền nhiệm: Cha Dan Derry, Norm Segovia, Robert Brocato và quý vị cựu hội đồng giáo xứ đã tận tâm và yêu thương giáo xứ này.
Sự duy nhất của giáo xứ này được nền tảng không những trong địa điểm của giáo xứ được xây (trong một khu thương mại) mà còn trong các phần tử của cộng đoàn giáo dân này. Nơi đây quý vị thực sự cảm nhận ý nghĩa đạo Công Giáo của chúng ta. Giáo dân từ mọi nơi trên toàn thế giới đến đây để thờ phượng Chúa, để làm vững mạnh và để tuyên xưng đức tin của họ.
Để tiếp tục với những di sản tôi thừa hưởng, tôi sẽ chăm nom hạt giống tốt mà các vị tiền nhiệm đã gieo trồng nơi đây với chú tâm đặc biệt về sự hợp nhất giữa các nền văn hóa và tập tục khác nhau của giáo dân cùng nhau tụ họp nơi đây mỗi một ngày. Nhưng cùng lúc, tôi mong muốn đẩy mạnh quyền sở hữu chủ và tinh thần trách nhiệm mạnh mẽ hơn, nói cách khác: "Giáo xứ này là của quý vị, bây giờ quý vị phải chăm sóc nó."
Tôi đang cùng đồng hành với quý vị trong cuộc hành trình đức tin. Tôi mời gọi quý vị bây giờ cùng đồng hành với tôi để cùng nhau chúng ta có thể nói lên: "Tôi thuộc về giáo xứ Chúa Kitô Vua, là một cộng đồng đức tin được mời gọi là ánh sáng và là thần khí nơi phố chợ và hơn thế nữa"
